Time: 6:00am – 7:30am
Description: According to the National Domestic Violence Hotline on average a woman will leave an abusive relationship seven times before she leaves for good. This webinar will address victim safety planning and help incorporate the best safety practices within your program. We will review topics such as identifying domestic violence/sexual assault, protection orders, address confidentiality, and the power and control wheel. Safety planning is the best way to detach from physical, verbal, and emotional abuse. Through an effective safety plan with the victim it will help them feel supported in their time of leaving, helping them refrain from returning, and taking legal actions if needed. Survivors need time to get on their feet, a time and space to make decisions, explore options with privacy and respect, and be provided a sister space environment that supports survivors on their healing journey.
