Time: 8:30am – 4:30pm
Description: Domestic violence and community-based advocates are in a unique position to discuss with their clients short- and long-term health needs related to domestic violence (DV) and human trafficking (HT) and promote a culture of wellness and healing. By building staff capacity and growing local partnerships with community health centers, advocates can increase their clients’ access to health care by offering: health insurance enrollment and facilitated clinic appointments for primary care, reproductive health and substance use coercion; offering over-the-counter medication; and promoting yoga, sleep and self-care while in program/shelter.
