Grandma Moon, Motherhood, and Teen Moms

Description: Domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, teen dating and sex trafficking are not traditional issues or values, but we will face them with indigenous solutions. Growing up in boarding schools changed the natural flow of parenting and the bond between mother and child forever. What it means to be an indigenous mother when you haven’t had one due to domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, sex trafficking or other major crimes and the correlation to boarding school and the past. Our traditional parenting styles have been damaged by society and the social norms of the past. In this webinar we will discuss the importance of returning to the basics for all mothers, grandmothers, aunties, foster moms and teen moms and precautions for our future mothers.
