Date/Time: Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 1:15 AM - 2:45 AM ChST

Description: In rural Northern Minnesota, the Courts work together with law enforcement, prosecutors, probation, human services, schools, health care providers, civil legal services, victim advocates, and intervention program facilitators toward the common goal of enhancing victim safety, holding offenders accountable, and increasing hope and trust in the justice system. In an area laden with historical trauma, drug and alcohol addiction, out of home childplacement, and generational poverty, along with the special challenges found in many rural communities, there is a light of hope. This session will provide an outline of developing and implementing a Domestic Violence Court and Coordinated Community Response Team, creating a victim-centered appraoch, holding systems and offenders accountable, and helping create a more positive, hopeful community.
