Description: This virtual, interactive, 8-session series will provide the foundations of restorative practices and a fundamental understanding of how to serve as a facilitator in basic restorative practices that include restorative conversations with criminal system clients and survivors, specifically focused on survivors of domestic violence/intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking and dating violence. In each 2.5-hour session, participants will acquire knowledge, practice skills and receive interim assignments to supplement their learning. (There will be approximately 4 hours of supplemental work each week (discussions/assignments on harm with criminal system clients, videos, accountability circles, and circles with surrogate survivors). Participants who complete training will be ready to work with a mentor/coach and begin their practice as a restorative practices facilitator in basic restorative.
