Resilience: This Moment And BeyondTopic: Resilience: This Moment And Beyond
Hosted By: Hollaback!
Date: Thursday, January 7, 2022
Time: 4:00 AM ChST
Description: The one-hour, interactive and experiential learning experience will teach you how to author your own resilience in during 2020, using Hollaback!’s resilience methodology: sit with what is, create your story, and be in choice. We’ll start by talking about what resilience really is, and how it’s different (and harder) than self-care. Using guided practices, we’ll learn how to hold our pain alongside our joy during this global pandemic. We’ll explore how we’re making sense of this moment -- and how that’s shaping our experience of it. And we’ll learn practices to recover quickly when we’re knocked down by the world.

Bystander Intervention to stop anti-Asian/American and xenophobic harassmentTopic: Bystander Intervention to stop anti-Asian/American and xenophobic harassment
Hosted By: Hollaback!
Date: Thursday, January 7, 2022
Time: 6:00 AM ChST
Description: "Anti-Asian/American and xenophobic harassment are on the rise across the US -- and the world. In this virtual workshop hosted on Zoom, and co-sponsored by Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC) and Hollaback!, we'll learn how you can intervene effectively as a bystander without ever compromising your safety.
The one-hour, interactive training will teach you Hollaback!'s 5D's of bystander intervention methodology. We'll start by talking about the types of disrespect that Asian and Asian American folks are facing right now -- from microaggressions to violence -- using a tool we call the ""spectrum of disrespect."" You'll learn what to look for and the positive impact that bystander intervention has on individuals and communities. We'll talk through five strategies for intervention: distract, delegate, document, delay, and direct; and how to prioritize your own safety while intervening. We'll have time at the end for practice, and you'll leave feeling more confident intervening the next time you see anti-Asian/American harassment online or in person."

Conflict De-escalation TrainingTopic: Conflict De-escalation Training
Hosted By: Hollaback!
Date: Tuesday, January 11, 2022
Time: 5:00 AM ChST
Description: If you’ve already taken our Bystander Intervention training and you’re looking to go deeper into how to directly intervene and de-escalate conflict: this interactive training is for you. Conflict de-escalation requires patience, a willingness to listen, and an ability to see the humanity in everyone, even those we don’t agree with or who seek to hurt us. Using Hollaback!’s Observe-Breathe-Connect methodology, we’ll learn how to identify potential conflict before it escalates using our “pyramid of escalation” and how to assess whether intervening is the right action for you. We’ll talk about specific biases that are increasing conflict, harassment, and violence during COVID-19 -- and the role of implicit and explicit bias in conflict. We’ll also learn how to connect with others by validating and de-escalating their feelings -- even if we don’t understand them or agree with them. We’ll have time at the end to practice using real-life scenarios.
