Description: During this session, you will experience the importance of expressing creativity and how being creative leads to a healthy mental and physical lifestyle. Dr. Yescavage is a renowned professor of psychology and explores various studies and publications about how to express your creativity. As you explore this interactive and unique session, you will come to find the various benefits of exploring creativity. Including:
- Improving flexibility
- More openness
- Further autonomy
- More playfulness
- A better well-being
Dr. Yescavage will explain how the creative nature of our minds and bodies allows us to have a more improved state of well-being. Through interactive activities and creative lessons, this unique session will be something you will not want to miss. There will be studies presented that explain the benefits of drawing, playing music, utilizing taste, smells, and other senses to tap into your creative side.

Meet Our Expert Karen Yescavage, Ph.D., professor of psychology, coordinates a new Creative Wellness interdisciplinary program at Colorado State University-Pueblo. She conducts applied research on creative expression to promote psychological well-being. She teaches undergraduate courses on privilege and oppression, personality, emotional intelligence, and positive psychology. She is actively involved in the community, promoting community schools and criminal legal system reform to reduce harm in both communities of color and law enforcement.
