Honest Dialogue Needed: Responding to Gender-Based Discrimination on Campus

Wednesday, January 10, 2018 / 2-3:30pm CT

Content: The presenters are experienced in working with students, staff and the general public in preventing and responding to gender-based discrimination on campus. Professionals in the field—advocates, law enforcement, attorneys, campus-based professionals—are invited to participate in a stimulating, in-depth conversation that should be had on the front pages of newspapers and on our TV screens. Why are college administrators investigating sexual violence? How did this start? What is actually happening at universities and colleges since the 2011 Dear Colleague Letter and how does this reality differ from what we are reading and what the talking heads are saying? All this and more.

Presenters: Dr. Valyncia C. Raphael, JD, Director of Diversity, Compliance, and Title IX Coordinator, Cerritos Community College District and Anton Tripolskii, Training & TA Specialist, Battered Women's Justice Project
